This Privacy Policy explains how Acquisition Lab Ops LLC dba Acquisition Lab (collectively, “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) (including our family of brands, subsidiaries, and related entities when they specifically reference this Privacy Policy) collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information (as defined below) in connection with our websites, Services, and Programs and other websites we own and operate that link to this Privacy Policy, and any other related content, platform, services, products, and functionality offered on or through our offerings.
Information We Collect
Sources of personal information: We collect information from the following categories of sources: directly from you, such as through your account registration and profile inputs; third-party services such as LinkedIn; publicly available sources such as social media platforms and public databases to verify professional credentials; and automatic collection such as via cookies and similar technologies when you interact with our platform.
We do not collect biometric identifiers.

- Full name
- Physical or mailing address
- Phone number
- Email address
- LinkedIn profile URL
- Sensitive Personal Information: citizenship or other immigration status for certain eligibility criteria. Note: this data is not used for other purposes such as profiling.
- Payment Data: Credit card or bank account details, which are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor.
- Equity Applications: If you apply for capital or equity from Acquisition Lab Fund I LLC (the “Fund”), the Fund (acting as a separate data controller) may collect additional information to verify your identity and financial standing, including government-issued identification, tax forms, entity formation documents, personal financial statements, and banking details. By submitting an application, you authorize the Fund to conduct background and credit checks. This information is used solely for internal due diligence and compliance (KYC/AML) and will not be shared with third parties except as required by law.
- Recordings of video-conferencing calls and other live communications.
- Any additional information you include or choose to provide (e.g., investment thesis, industry focus, available capital range, search timeline). This can include information you choose to share in community forums, discussions, comments, direct messages, or group collaboration areas within the Acquisition Lab platform.
- Services Engagement: If you engage our services arm for professional support, we may collect business records necessary to perform those services, including accounting and bookkeeping files, payroll and HR data, employee/contractor information, marketing analytics, tax records, and customer or vendor details. This data is used strictly for the delivery of the requested services and remains subject to our confidentiality obligations.
Information We Generate
- A reformatted, professional online profile created from the information you provide.
- We may generate information about your participation in the Acquisition Lab platform, including community participation metrics, engagement with educational materials, and usage of platform tools.
Information Collected Automatically
- Log data (e.g., IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages)
- Device identifiers and operating system information
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in the Cookies and Tracking Technologies section below
How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
- Member account creation and community participation: To create and maintain your Acquisition Lab account, profile, and participation within our community platform.
- Sharing with third parties: See the Sharing of Your Information section below for details.
- Community interaction: To enable members to participate in discussions, share ideas, crowdsource feedback on potential acquisitions, and collaborate with other members within the Acquisition Lab community.
- Program operations: To deliver onboarding, training materials, events, and other services associated with the Acquisition Lab accelerator program.
- Platform analytics: To understand how users interact with the platform and improve our tools, educational resources, and community features.
- Platform operations: To operate, maintain, and improve the platform, including bug fixes and performance monitoring.
- Communications: To send you transactional communications (e.g., profile creation confirmations, account updates) and, with your express consent, marketing and promotional communications about Acquisition Lab programs, events, and services.
- Legal and safety: To comply with legal obligations, respond to legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Acquisition Lab or others.
Data integrity and purpose limitation: We process personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Policy. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we process is accurate, but we depend on our users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.
Recording and Monitoring: You acknowledge and agree that we may record virtual sessions, including video, audio, and chat communications. By participating in these sessions, you consent to such recording. These recordings may be used for quality assurance, training, service improvement, and internal records, subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to be recorded for a given session, you may email support@acquisitionlab.com and we may, in our sole discretion, decide not to record such session. Your other option is to not attend the recorded session.
Investment and Acquisition Discussions: Acquisition Lab provides educational resources and community discussion tools. Information shared within the platform may include opinions, commentary, or experiences from other members. Such information is provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered investment, financial, legal, or professional advice.
We may use your Personal Information for the performance of the services or transaction for which it was given, and in connection with other products, services, promotions, or contests we may offer, and our private, internal reporting for this site, and security assessments for this site. We reserve the right to make full use of Usage Data. For example, we may use Usage Data to provide better service to site visitors, customize the site based on your preferences, compile and analyze statistics and trends about the use of this site, and otherwise administer and improve this site for your use.
AI Development and Training: You acknowledge and agree that we may use non-confidential data, information, and content provided through the Service, including but not limited to communications on chat platforms and recordings of virtual sessions, to develop, train, and improve our artificial intelligence models and related technologies. Any use of such data will be conducted in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Sharing of Your Information
Sharing With The Community
Information you share in discussion forums, comments, or other collaborative areas of the platform may be visible to other Acquisition Lab members. You should only share information that you are comfortable making available to other members of the community.
Note: Content you post within community discussions may be copied, reshared, or discussed by other members. Acquisition Lab does not control how other users may use information shared in community discussions.
Service Providers
We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform, for example, cloud hosting providers, email delivery services, or analytics tools. These providers are contractually required to use your information only for the purposes for which it was disclosed and to protect it in accordance with applicable law. These providers may include hosting providers, analytics vendors, payment processors, communication platforms, and community platform software providers.
Payment Processing: We use a third-party payment processor to manage subscription billing. Acquisition Lab does not store or have access to your full credit card numbers or bank login credentials. All payment data is handled in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, certain disclosures of profile data to brokers, sellers, and marketing partners may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” under California law. You may opt out as described below.
Text Messaging Data: Notwithstanding any other provision in this Privacy Policy, mobile opt-in data and consent for text messaging are excluded from all information-sharing categories. We will not share your mobile phone number or SMS consent with third parties, affiliates, or non-affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. This data is only shared with aggregators and service providers strictly for the purpose of providing the text messaging services.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information when required by law, regulation, or legal process (such as a court order or government request), or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Acquisition Lab, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers
If Acquisition Lab enters into a joint venture, is sold to, or merges with another business entity, your Personal Information may be disclosed to our new business partners or owners. You acknowledge that such acquirers may continue to use your Personal Information as set forth in this policy.
Joint Venture Marketing Partners
We may participate with another company or individual for purposes of jointly promoting our products, services, promotions, or contests, or their products, services, promotions, or contests. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
You have the right to opt out of the sharing of your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. To exercise this right, click the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our homepage. We also recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request.
Retention of Information
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the services described in this policy and to comply with our legal obligations:
- Account and profile data is retained for the duration of your account and for up to 24 months after account closure, unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes.
- Log and usage data is retained for up to 12 months for operational and security purposes.
When your information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it. We collect and retain personal information only as reasonably necessary and proportionate to achieve the purposes described in this Policy.

- Essential cookies: Required for the platform to function (e.g., maintaining your login session). These cannot be disabled.

Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. At this time, our platform does not alter its data collection practices in response to Do Not Track signals, as there is no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to such signals. We will update this policy if our practices change.
Interest-Based Advertising: We may work with third parties to display advertising on our platform or to manage our advertising on other sites. How to Exercise Your Rights

We will verify your identity before processing your request using at least two pieces of identifying information. We will respond within 45 days. If additional time is needed, we will notify you and explain why, up to a maximum of 90 days.
Updating Personal Information: Upon request, we will permit you to request or make changes or updates to your Personal Information for legitimate purposes. We request identification prior to approving such requests. We reserve the right to decline any requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require unreasonable time or effort of our technical or administrative personnel, or undermine the privacy rights of others. We reserve the right to permit you to access your Personal Information in any account you establish with this site for purposes of making your own changes or updates, and in such case, instructions for making such changes or updates will be provided where necessary.
Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. These include:
- HTTPS encryption across all pages of the platform
- Encryption of data at rest and in transit
- Access controls limiting internal access to personal information on a need-to-know basis
- Regular security reviews and assessments

Third-party websites and features: Our platform may contain links to other websites or features (such as LinkedIn ‘Sign-In’ or social sharing widgets). These third-party sites operate independently from the Company and have their own privacy notices or policies. We strongly suggest you review the privacy policies of any linked websites you visit. We are not responsible for the content, use, or privacy practices of websites that are not owned or controlled by the Company.
International Transfers
Any Personal Information which we may collect on this site may be stored and processed in our servers located in the United States or in any other country in which we, or our affiliates, subsidiaries, or agents maintain facilities. By using this site, you consent to any such transfer of Personal Information outside your country of residence to any such location. The Company is based in the United States. By using our platform, you understand that your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. We implement appropriate safeguards to ensure your data remains protected in accordance with this Policy.
Children's Privacy
The Company’s services are intended for adults and are not directed to anyone under 18 years of age. The Company does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from an individual under 18 (or the applicable legal age in your jurisdiction) without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information from our systems as quickly as possible.
In addition, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian who believes that a minor has submitted personally identifiable information without your permission or consent, please contact us as provided below under “Contact Us” and we will remove the information from our active list at your request. Please include in your message the same login information that the minor submitted.
Social Media Interactions
We invite you to share your participation with this site on social media. If you choose to use social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, LinkedIn, or Instagram, you will be allowing interaction with these platforms or other external platforms directly from this site, and in the process you may be sharing certain profile elements, including your comments.
